Great Smoky Mountain Elopements is a business owned and operated by Danielle Washington in Tennessee, USA.

Information we collect

Information you give us. When you fill out a form, request a proposal, sign a contract, pay, use our website chat, or contact us by email, phone, text or social media, we collect what you share. This usually includes your names, email address, phone number, mailing address, wedding date and location, package and add-on choices, guest count, and any details you tell us about your plans.

Payment information. Payments are handled by the payment processors built into our booking and contract platforms. Those processors receive your card or bank details; we do not receive or store your full card number.

Information collected automatically. When you use our website, we, our website host (Wix) and our advertising and analytics partners use cookies, pixels, web beacons and similar technologies to collect information such as the pages you view, buttons and links you click, forms you submit, your browser and device type, your IP address and approximate location, and how you arrived at our site.

How we use your information

To answer your questions, prepare proposals, book and plan your elopement, and coordinate the photographers, officiants and other team members who work your day.
To send proposals, contracts, invoices, reminders and booking updates by email and, if you agree, by text message.
To deliver your photos and videos.
To ask about your experience and invite you to leave a review.
To understand how our website is used and improve it.
To advertise our services, including showing ads to people who have visited our site, and to measure whether our ads work (see below).
To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations and protect our rights.

Advertising and analytics

Third parties, including Meta and Google, may use cookies, pixels, web beacons and similar technologies to collect or receive information from our website and elsewhere on the internet, and use that information to provide measurement services and to target ads.

Google. We use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Google Ads tags. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to show our ads to people based on their past visits to our website and other websites, and to measure how our ads perform.

Meta (Facebook and Instagram). We use the Meta Pixel and Meta's Conversions API. These tell Meta when someone visits our site or takes an action such as submitting an inquiry, requesting a booking, signing a contract or making a payment (including the booking amount). To match these actions to Facebook or Instagram accounts, we and our website host send Meta information such as your email address, phone number, name, city/state/zip, IP address and browser information. Contact details are converted into a scrambled code ("hashed") before they are sent.

Customer lists. We may share hashed contact details of past clients and people who have inquired with Meta and Google so they can show our ads to people similar to our clients and avoid showing ads to people who have already booked.

Meta ads: In Facebook or Instagram, go to Settings → Accounts Center → Ad preferences.

Industry opt-outs: Opt out of interest-based ads from many companies at optout.aboutads.info and optout.networkadvertising.org.
Cookies: Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some site features may not work without them.
Ask us: Email us (below) to ask us to stop using your information for targeted advertising, including removing you from customer lists we share with Meta and Google.

Do Not Track. Our website does not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals. Third parties, including those named above, may collect information about your online activities over time and across different websites when you use our site.

Sale of personal information and targeted advertising

We do not sell your personal information for money. We do use and disclose personal information for targeted advertising as described above, which some state privacy laws call "sharing" or "targeted advertising." You can opt out at any time using the choices above or by emailing us.

Our team — the photographers, videographers, officiants, planners and other professionals assigned to your elopement.
Service providers that host and run our tools on our behalf, such as Wix (website, forms and chat), Dubsado and HoneyBook (proposals, contracts, invoices and payments), Google (email and business documents), Zapier (connecting our tools), our text-messaging provider, Pixieset (photo galleries), and our marketing agency, which manages our advertising and software for us.
Advertising and analytics partners as described above.
Authorities or others, when required by law or to protect our rights or someone's safety.
A successor, if the business is sold or reorganized.

Text messages

If you give us your mobile number and agree to receive texts, we may text you about your inquiry or booking. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. Agreeing to texts is not required to book with us.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. This does not include our text-messaging provider, which sends messages on our behalf.

Emails

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any such email. We will still send emails about an active inquiry or booking.

Our website chat

Our website chat may use an automated AI assistant, provided through Wix, to answer common questions. Chat messages are processed by Wix and its technology providers and saved so we can follow up with you. Please do not share payment card numbers or other sensitive information in the chat.

Photos and videos

Photos and videos from your elopement are delivered through an online gallery. How we may use your images in our portfolio, website, social media or ads is covered by your contract with us.

How long we keep information

We keep inquiry and booking records as long as needed to serve you and to meet tax, accounting and legal requirements, generally up to 7 years after your event or last contact. Website analytics and advertising data are kept for the periods set by our analytics and advertising providers.

Security

We use reputable service providers and reasonable safeguards to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information sent over the internet.

Children

Our services are for adults. Our website is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop using it for targeted advertising. Email us and we will respond within a reasonable time. We may need to confirm your identity first. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your state's privacy law, and we will honor requests as the law requires. We may keep some information when needed to meet legal obligations or complete a booking.
